Assessment of Underground Water Quality in Karimunjawa Island, Central Java – Indonesia

As a small island and tourist destination, Karimunjawa municipal is need fresh water to support the activity, mainly supply drinking water. Unfortunately, freshwater on obtained from groundwater which very limited vulnerable climate change anthropogenic activities. A assessment necessary receive up-to-date information quality, assess feasibility for water, determine pollutant source. The was conducted by collected sampling dug wells swamp area in then analyzed samples laboratory obtain value of Nutrient (NO3-, NO2-, NH3-N); Heavy Metals (Cu, Fe, Pb); Salt (TDS, Cl-, Na+). These parameters were compared with quality standard minister health regulation Republic Indonesia about standards In this study, 14 analyzed. result shows that nutrient contaminant low, but some sample contaminated ammonia. metal undetectable, almost all are salt.
